Saint Patrick's Day is a public holiday in the Republic of Ireland. It is also celebrated by the Irish around the world, especially in Britain, the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand and Argentina.
Saint Patrick is the most recognised of the patron saints of Ireland. The day involves public parades and festivals.
